Dr Reuben Moreton
Reuben is the founder of RELI. He combines operational policing experience with meticulous research and consultancy skills.
Reuben has 10 years’ prior experience working operationally as a forensic examiner and expert witness and now provides advice, training and consultancy in facial identification and digital forensics. He has worked on national and internationally projects as a technical lead and subject-matter expert, in areas including biometric verification, forensic accreditation and process automation.
He regularly gives advice, training and mentoring in forensic face examination to organisations around the world, as well as providing expert opinion on facial identification casework.
With a PhD in the expertise underpinning face identification, Reuben has extensive research experience, contributing to published academic papers, and international policy and guidance documents in forensic science and facial identification. The current focus of his research is investigating the use of artificial intelligence in forensic face examination. More broadly his research covers the psychology of forensic expertise and decision making.
